5 REASONS WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT IS MORE THAN A TREND & WHY IT’S FOR YOU, REGARDLESS OF YOUR AGE

It is now undeniable; women’s empowerment continues to grow and is here to stay as a vital part of the U.S. and international economies.  Women recognize that change requires extra effort, especially for it to be sustainable, and with that clear understanding, they will invest in ways to facilitate real impact to remain engaged and proactive to be successful in their careers and businesses.

Currently, future opportunities are ripe for females to enter the entrepreneurial field and advance corporately as they establish themselves as permanent and powerful forces in the marketplace. There are five reasons women’s empowerment is no longer a trend but a movement and why you should make your move now.

It Sets You Up for an Evolutionary Journey

Traditionally, women have not been afforded the same breaks as men for investing in their advancement within corporations or when starting a business, and while there are still inequities, changes are being advanced, albeit slowly. Recognizing these shifts, women are committing to tackling entrepreneurial ventures and a dedication to pursuing corporate advancement which is fostering a continual journey of personal discovery. Its opening fresh opportunities to take part in a process of change and development. Understanding that you have an avenue, if embraced, to experience an ongoing awakening of untapped potential and growth is critical to your continual advancement. More and more, women are assuming positions to frame how and when their innovative ideas are introduced, managed, and acknowledged.

Being open to new ideas, an improved way of thinking, and gathering information causes you to re-evaluate and redirect your life trajectory. Creating a pathway for greater insight makes it possible for you to experience a mental edge that was not available previously.

What will it take to eradicate old unproductive habits so you can join other women engaging in daily empowering routines? One word that comes to mind is rigor without the attachment of stubbornness, but possessing qualities of exactitude. Recognizing that your future is no longer a destination point but always evolving, there is joy in the consistent pursuit of what’s on the horizon – growth, and opportunity.

Promotes Uplifting and Belonging Environments

If you are looking for atmospheres where communication is valued, they have proven that women place a premium on interactive environments.  These environments include creating workspaces that promote mutual respect and compassionate leaders. There is not only an expectation of communal care and shared responsibilities, but intentionality based on practices and policies to ensure it.

It’s a great time to enter the growing field of entrepreneurship and corporate leadership because if one of your core beliefs is creating uplifting opportunities for other women, you can help create spaces where female contributions are welcomed and appreciated. Businesses worldwide are starting to understand and track the importance employees place on staff development and a sense of belonging, and this is a place where the power and influence of women continue to be felt.

Inspires Collaboration Among Women’s Networks

A reason women’s businesses are on the rise and becoming a major contributor to the U.S. economy is their ability to create trust, which helps to promote efficiency and a sense of safety.  Another area where women seem to excel is in their commitment to creating and recognizing opportunities for synergy to enhance innovation and create a spirit of joint ownership. These alliances improve the group’s ability to problem solve and encourage social interaction and mutual engagement.

A convergence of women working to empower themselves has inspired many opportunities for collaborations and partnerships. Forming these relationships has sparked intellectual curiosity and inspired innovation, which has led to diversity in thought and ignited creative ideas that continue to contribute to women’s empowerment.

Fellowshiping with others is another way of expanding your knowledge while allowing you to share your wisdom and provide service to others. These female-based learning opportunities are essential to sharpen your outlook and galvanize your output.

Places you in control of your future

Most successful people want to be in control of their futures and hope that it’s possible. However, as one of my mentors reminds me, hope is not a strategy. Being in control of your future must include mapping your path to success and managing your responses to opportunities and adversities. Progressively, women are strategizing, demonstrating autonomy by charting their own course, and eagerly managing their careers and businesses with great enthusiasm. Therefore, they are less likely to give into whims that lead them astray because of their commitment to well-planned strategies that empower them to be deliberate and in control of responses to difficulty.  Examples of women moving from supportive-only roles to leading teams, managing portfolios, advancing tech projects, and starting businesses, provides evidence that women’s empowerment has moved to a new level.  In work and in life, women have stopped seeking validation from others to gauge their success.

Boosting the economy through entrepreneurship

According to the Boston Consulting Group analysis, women who run their own businesses generate 10% more revenue in five years than men. According to the Mastercard Index, the female entrepreneurial activity rate continues to grow in the U.S. Because of the inequity in investment capital available to female businesses, the number of women businesses lags behind those of their male counterparts. However, according to an article published by the Washington State University, Carson College of Business, “if the number of women entrepreneurs matched the number of men, between 1.5 to 5 trillion could be added to the U. S. economy.

This is a great time for female entrepreneurs because of current and future commitments from local, state, and national entities working to close the gender gap in entrepreneurship. Women willing to invest in themselves as others invest in them will effectuate change in the nation’s overall economic growth.

I believe it’s fair to say that Generation Z, Generation X, and Millennial women are living during a time when females’ contributions in the areas of business, finance, government, education, medicine, sports, and entertainment are more prevalent than their predecessors. Therefore, acknowledging and accepting female empowerment as a natural state and far beyond a trend is more plausible.

For mature women, it’s understandable why some may feel slightly restless or uneasy as they contemplate how to make their years beyond the age of 50, a time of thriving and anticipation because there is so much talk about and emphasis on retiring. Yet, there are a host of women still optimistic and looking for opportunities that will contribute to a flourishing quality of life, so they too are embracing business, freelancing, consulting, and contracting to achieve their ambitions. Women worldwide are poised to continually impact the global economy.

As Jim Rohn, a well-known American entrepreneur is known for saying, “Success leaves clues”.  Irrefutable evidence supports the view that women’s empowerment is a growing phenomenon that’s here to stay, proving that is not just trending but a movement.

For women of all ages, the soil is fertile with opportunities in the corporate arena, and to start and build successful businesses as entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, freelancers, and contractors. More than enough data is available to support the belief that women’s empowerment is not a fad but has become a necessity and an established part of U.S. economic growth.
